The Ravencaller Family

long is our shadow

Established back in the golden days of the Kaldorei Empire, the Ravencaller family fought tooth and nail to mark themselves on the annals of Night Elf history as a formidable player in the treacherous world of the Highborne politics. Shrouded in infamy to this day, their presence is a harbinger of misfortune to follow.

The Family

Hailing from the coastal jewel of the Empire, Suramar, the family grounded themselves among the local nobles after years of Teneda's meticulous machinations - the elaborate avian spy network their claim to infamy among others, with the prized birds serving more than just mere messenger companions; where the black wings beat, a Ravencaller was sure soon to follow.

Teneda Ravencaller

— the Imperial Matriarch —

A truly self-made woman; pulling herself into the upper echelons of the Highborne society thanks to wit and force of will alone, Teneda laboured tirelessly to establish a legacy that would last centuries. An arranged marriage of convenience resulted in the birth of three children, each held to a high standard, each with a different role to play in the theater of her machinations.Just when she thought the grand prize was within the arm's reach, a sudden tragedy struck - a freak accident that cost the imperious matron her very life, to both dismay and relief of her children.

Vreis Ravencaller

— the Lost Patriarch —

Formerly known as Nightharvest, Vreis abandoned the life of a scholar within the court of Zin-Azshari in a move controversial among many of his peers; following through with his arranged marriage to Teneda Ravencaller, the two settled in his wife's home city, Suramar.Though there was little genuine love between the two, Vreis was always most fond of his daughters, both as a father and a teacher. Shortly after the birth of the third offspring and their first son, Edreth'yl, the Patriarch mysteriously went missing - unable to locate him or discern a possible cause of his demise for years, the family pronounced Vreis dead with a memorial in his name raised in Tel'anor.

Eluein Ravencaller

— Wraith of Suramar —

The firstborn daughter and the designated heir, Eluein became the focus of her mother's ever mounting expectations. With their relationship strained and devolving into fiery resentment over time, she vowed to never let herself be made into Teneda's reflection - a claim that the future would prove otherwise, forging her into a stern and unapproachable woman, whose unkind appearance goes in hand with her bitter words.Picking up a blade at an early age, she trained in the arts of arcane and swordplay both, earning the title of a Spellblade.

Melysanna Ravencaller

— the Forlorn Priestess —

The middle child and the second daughter - With melancholy etched to her features and reserved, poised demeanor, Melys is not one with imposing presence; the nature of a passive observer pushes her to the side, only to sulk away upon being noticed.

Edreth'yl Ravencaller

— the Outcast —

The black sheep of the Family - as the youngest born and the only son,
Edreth'yl was spared the harsh treatment of unachievable motherly expectations, left to roam free and indulge in all the hedonistic pleasures the Highborne lifestyle had to offer. He never honed any magical skill until further in his life, not as gifted as either of his sisters.
After the mother's death, so too did his time of leisure end - with the new head of the family, Eluein, asking more of him, the two often didn't see eye to eye. The ever growing rift between the siblings reached its apex in an explosive argument, resulting in the exile of the youngest from the family that lasted until their reunification millennia later.

Eledorn Duskborn

— the Seeker —

Born into the ruined remnants of Eldre’Thalas as part of the Shen’dralar, Eledorn from a young age learned the price of his own survival, living within the crumbling high halls for hundreds of years as nothing more than a subservient observer. Terrible personal tragedies and acts would set him free, but with a cost that would haunt him to his grave.Fashioning himself in the image of heroes of bygone ages, he would come to call himself a Spellblade whilst openly opposing the more traditionalist remnants of the Highborne caste that still clung to their values of old, inviting the ire of the eldest sibling of the Ravencaller family, for they were far too similar in many ways. From an adversary to now an uncertain ally, he will not suffer a world where faceless monsters of the past thrive.

Found dead, the late lady Venimeux was rumoured to had been killed by the hands of her former lover, too eager to trust again.

Tarellia Bluemist

— the Transient Host —

Once a wide-eyed, idealistic acolyte of the Sisterhood, Tarellia was ever dutiful, and loyal to her Goddess above all else. Truly believing in the inherent kindness and beauty of the world, she stopped at nothing to aid kin and stranger alike. It was this eagerness to help, and to prove herself, that led to her death. A victim of circumstance, felled by the eldest Ravencaller's blade. Death would not keep her, however, and through the grace of Elune and her kin, Tarellia rose anew, though she would never be the same. Finding more kinship with the dead than the living, the vacancy left by her shattered soul has made her a fitting host for wayward spirits.Against all odds, she now stands beside the one that would be her murderer, clinging to the few things that remain familiar, as she tries to find a place for herself in this world.
